Q&A with Jennifer and Mortgage Education. As a mortgage trainer Jen has a few ideas and tips of what you should know when considering a mortgage career.

ME: How much do loan officers make?
Jen: Well the median income is $65,900* ,but I have worked with many that earn over 6 figures.

ME: What hours do mortgage bankers work?
Jen: Most Bankers work 9-5, but occasionally have to meet a client after hours.

ME: Do Mortgage Professionals work holidays?
Jen: They can, but not usually. Most mortgage professionals get vacation and 10 federal holidays a year.

ME: What about weekends? Do they work weekends?
Jen: Very seldom, most work Monday through Friday.

ME: Does it take any special education to become a mortgage professional?
Jen: Yes, a twenty hour national approved safe act course.

ME: When can you take a course?
Jennifer: Easy, you can take it any day of the week and any hour of the day.

ME: Where can you take a course?
Jennifer: Anywhere you have an internet connection.

ME: What is the cost to take a course?
Jen: Usually, about $279.

ME: How easy is it to find a job once I complete my training?
Jen: Companies can’t find enough people who have completed their training.

ME: Why do they want you to be trained prior to being hired?
Jen: Simple they want people who can do the job. Your education makes you valuable.
